Satyajit Ganguly has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Power Exchange India Limited. Ganguly is an Electrical Engineering graduate with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management. He also has a law degree. He has 35 years of experience working for well-known power companies and authorities. Ganguly passed the Indian Engineering Services examination administered by the Union Public Service Commission.

He has held various responsible and key positions with NTPC, Central Electricity Authority in Western Regional Electricity Board (WREB), Power Grid, Power Exchange India Limited, Lanco Power Limited, Vedanta Group, ONGC Tripura Power Company Limited (OTPC). His most recent position as Managing Director was with North-Eastern Transmission Company Limited from 2018 to June 26th, 2023.

Shri Ganguly is a professional with domain expertise in Grid Management, Power Plant Operations, Power Exchange Operations, Power Trading, Policy & Regulatory Advocacy, compliance, Business Development, and Business Expansion.

He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India), and The Institution of Engineers (India) named him ‘Eminent Engineering Personality of the Year’ in 2018. He also received the Institute of Economic Studies 2019 International Icon Award. He was also named ‘Leading CEO of the Year for 2019’ by the Greentech Foundation.
