Persistent Systems has announced plans to acquire German digital engineering firm Nagarro through a voluntary public takeover offer. The proposed deal will combine Persistent’s AI, cloud, and digital engineering capabilities with Nagarro’s expertise in enterprise applications, customer experience, and digital transformation.

Once completed, the combined entity is expected to generate approximately $2.9 billion in annual revenue and employ more than 46,000 professionals across over 40 countries. The acquisition will significantly strengthen Persistent’s presence in Europe and expand its global AI and engineering services footprint.

Persistent said the merger will help enterprises accelerate AI adoption and digital transformation while creating a stronger global technology services organisation. The transaction is expected to be one of the largest overseas acquisitions by an Indian IT company.
