PepsiCo India has recently announced the appointment of Jagrut Kotecha as its new Chief Executive Officer. Kotecha, who presently holds the position of Chief Commercial Officer in PepsiCo’s Africa, Middle East, and South Asia sector, is set to replace Ahmed El Sheikh. El Sheikh, after a successful seven-year tenure in India, is moving on to lead PepsiCo’s Middle East Business Unit starting from March.

Eugene Willemsen, the Chief Executive Officer for Africa, Middle East & South Asia at PepsiCo, highlighted the importance of the Indian market in PepsiCo’s global strategy. He commended Ahmed El Sheikh for his significant contributions in transforming the business in India through innovation and navigating complex challenges. Willemsen expressed his enthusiasm for continuing to collaborate with El Sheikh in his new role and welcomed Jagrut Kotecha to the executive team in India.


The announcement of this leadership transition was part of a series of planned changes across the AMESA region, and was communicated to the employees in the India office on Thursday.

Jagrut Kotecha, who has been with PepsiCo for three decades, expressed his excitement about his new role.
