Noel Tata has been named the Chairman of Tata Trusts, succeeding the late Indian business tycoon Ratan Tata, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86, as reported by media channels. Noel is taking over as the 11th Chairman of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and the 6th Chairman of Sir Ratan Tata Trust.

The appointment of Noel as the new Chairman is a crucial step as Tata Trusts holds a 66% stake in Tata Sons, which has a legacy of more than 150 years and is the holding company of multiple companies functioning under the Tata Brand.

Noel N Tata, son of Naval H Tata and Simone N Tata, is the Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Tata International Limited. He is a trustee on the Boards of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust and the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Chairman of Trent, Voltas, Tata Investment Corporation, and the Vice President of Tata Steel and Titan Company Limited.

Since 2014, Noel Tata has been serving as the Chairman of Trent Limited. In the past decade, the company’s shares surged by 6,000%, establishing itself as one of the most prosperous companies of Tata.

Noel Tata has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Sussex and attended the International Executive Programme at INSEAD business school in France.
