Microsoft has appointed Vaishali Kasture, an ex-senior executive at Amazon Web Services, to lead its Small, Medium and Corporate Business in India and Saarc.

Kasture has more than 25 years of experience in banking, outsourcing, and technology. She has worked with companies like Deloitte, Citibank, and Goldman Sachs, and co-founded SonderConnect, a platform that mentors female entrepreneurs with a presence in India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. She graduated from Sydenham College of Commerce, Mumbai, and the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

The announcement was reportedly made by Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia, via an email to the employees. He wrote, “SMC is at the heart of India’s digital transformation journey, and Vaishali joins us at a pivotal moment as we build AI for everyone and copilot India & South Asia’s AI transformation.”

Kasture also announced her appointment through LinkedIn. She wrote that with cloud, AI, and data security solutions seen increasingly in action, Microsoft is uniquely positioned as an end-to-end technology industry player to help businesses in all of these.
