HCLTech, a prominent technology company, announced that Lee Fang Chew has been appointed as an independent director, effective from April 25, 2024. Lee Fang Chew is recognized for her extensive 30-year tenure in the global technology sector, with specific expertise in computing industry trends and developments.
Her professional journey includes a significant stint at Intel Corporation from 1986 to 2016, where she ascended through various leadership roles. She notably advanced Intel’s data center and cloud computing capabilities and pioneered the company’s entry into service offerings. Additionally, Lee Fang Chew led strategic initiatives for the Channel Product Group and managed global distribution and channel revenues. She also served as the Financial Controller for Asia Pacific. From 2017 to 2020, she was Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Applied Materials, where she played a crucial role in developing strategic partnerships and enhancing the company’s technological offerings.
Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Chairperson of HCLTech, expressed enthusiasm about Lee Fang Chew’s board inclusion, highlighting it as a step towards diversifying the board and propelling the company into a new growth phase. Lee Fang Chew also shared her excitement about contributing to HCLTech‘s evolution in the dynamic tech environment.
Lee Fang Chew holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore and has completed the Women’s Director Development Program at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. She has also participated in executive programs for women leaders at Stanford University. In recognition of her influence in the tech sector, she was named one of the 50 most powerful women in the channel by VAR Business Magazine in August 2006.
