Startup Mahakumbh 2025, recognised as the world’s largest startup event, will soon witness its second edition from April 3 to 5, 2025, at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. This was announced at the curtain-raiser ceremony in New Delhi on National Startup Day by Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal. This edition aims to gather startup founders, policymakers, industry leaders, and stakeholders, and focus on regional participation and sustainable development.

Highlights of Startup Mahakumbh 2025


  • Participation and Reach: Over 3,000 startups and 500 investors from more than 50 countries are expected to attend. Participants will represent 788 districts across India.

  • Collaborative Organisation: The event is being organised by FICCI, ASSOCHAM, IVCA, and Bootstrap Advisory and Foundation. It has received support from SIDBI, GEM, ECGC, and DPIIT Startup India, reflecting India’s vibrant startup landscape.

  • Focus on Inclusivity and Technology: Regional talent and emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and IoT will be key themes. The event aims to provide opportunities for local startups to grow on a global scale.

The event expects more than 3,000 startups, 500 investors from over 50 countries, and participation from all 788 districts in 30 states and union territories. Key areas of focus will include Defence and Space Technology, Cybersecurity, and Manufacturing.

Goyal stated that Startup Mahakumbh is a step toward making India the largest startup ecosystem. DPIIT Secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia added that the event shows India’s commitment to supporting startups and their role in economic progress.

The event will include sessions for startups to pitch ideas, discussions on funding and expansion, networking opportunities, and awards for outstanding work in various fields. Sanjeev Bikhchandani from Info Edge shared his excitement about seeing startups and investors come together. Archana Jahagirdar from Rukam Capital said the event will encourage cooperation and help entrepreneurs create jobs and wealth.

Startup Mahakumbh will showcase advances in AI, blockchain, and IoT. Partnerships with countries like Georgia, Greece, Israel, and Japan will strengthen India’s position in global markets. Special sections will highlight startups in areas like Defence and Space Technology, Cybersecurity, and Business-to-Business services.

The inaugural Startup Mahakumbh in 2023 attracted 48,581 business visitors and 1,300+ exhibitors, with representation from 26 states and 14 countries. The second edition aims to exceed these benchmarks, contributing to India’s journey towards becoming a trillion-dollar digital economy.
