The Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (IIT Palakkad) has joined hands with Autodesk to enhance advanced skill development in the fields of architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), and design and manufacturing. The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Bengaluru by Prof. A Seshadri Sekhar, Director of IIT Palakkad, and Smitha Raghunathan, Director and Chief of Staff for APAC and Japan at Autodesk.
As part of the agreement, IIT Palakkad will establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) and a state-of-the-art Digital Construction Laboratory on its campus. These new facilities will provide access to Autodesk’s cloud-based solutions, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), generative design, and additive manufacturing technologies.
The initiative will integrate cutting-edge digital tools into academic programs, elevate faculty capabilities, and introduce industry-relevant courses, bootcamps, and design competitions. Additionally, IIT faculty members will have the opportunity to earn Autodesk-certified credentials, keeping them abreast of trends in sustainable building practices and automation in design.
