IAMAI appoints Google India MD Sanjay Gupta as its Chairman By Elets News Network - 28 June 2021

Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has appointed Sanjay Gupta, Google India Vice President and Managing Director as its chairman during 2021-23.

On his appointment, Gupta stated that the internet connects over a billion Indians to opportunities. It has the power to support businesses, scale access to education, healthcare and drive financial inclusions in the country.


“As a country, India has made tremendous progress and has proven the ability to deliver towards this vision. At this critical moment, the onus is on all of us to ensure that we make responsible progress towards delivering this vision, respecting everyone’s right to privacy, ensuring their safety, and making the Internet a powerful engine for India’s economic growth,” added Gupta.

Ajit Mohan, Vice President and Managing Director, Facebook India has been named as Vice Chairman of the association.

At IAMAI, Gupta and Mohan succeed Amit Agarwal, Senior Vice President and India Country Manager, Amazon and Dhruv Shringi, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Yatra.com.


Besides, Harshil Mathur, CEO and co-founder, Razorpay has been appointed as the Treasurer. Mathur succeeds Satyan Gajwani, Vice-Chairman, Times Internet.
