Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has announced the appointment of Takashi Nakajima as its new President and CEO, effective April 1, 2025. Nakajima will succeed Takuya Tsumura, who will be returning to Japan for a new role at Honda’s headquarters.

A seasoned leader, Nakajima has been with Honda since 1994, holding key positions across Business Planning, Product Planning, Marketing, and Sales Promotion in diverse markets, including Japan, China, Spain, Czech Republic, and Russia. Since 2021, he has been serving as President of Honda Motor Russia, while also overseeing Product Planning, Marketing, and Corporate Communication for Honda’s automobile business in Japan.

Under Tsumura’s leadership, HCIL introduced notable models such as the City e:HEV, the third-generation Amaze, and Honda’s debut midsize SUV, the Elevate. Nakajima’s appointment marks a strategic move as Honda aims to strengthen its presence in the Indian market.
