HCLTech and IBM to establish a GenAI CoE to accelerate AI adoption across enterprises By Elets News Network - 03 July 2024

HCLTech and IBM have formed a partnership to set up a Generative AI Centre of Excellence (GenAI CoE) using IBM’s watson AI and data platform. This initiative aims to provide advanced AI solutions and training, resulting in the acceleration of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption across various enterprises.

The GenAI CoE will be available at HCLTech’s AI and Cloud Native Labs in Noida, London, New Jersey, and Santa Clara. It will assist enterprises in updating old applications, improving IT service management, reducing coding complexity, and promoting uninterrupted innovation.


HCLTech plans to train 10,000 engineers and architects in IBM’s AI technologies, focusing on the watsonx platform. Alan Flower, EVP and Global Head of AI & Cloud Native Labs at HCLTech, said that integrating watsonx into HCLTech’s AI solutions will help with code modernisation.

The GenAI CoE will offer clients extensive education and training resources on AI technologies like watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, watsonx.governance, watsonx Code Assistants, watsonx Orchestrate, and watsonx Assistant. This initiative aims to provide enterprises with the skills and tools to develop innovative AI use cases, promoting continuous improvement and technological advancement.

Flower added that the initiative will help clients accelerate GenAI adoption and enhance digital skills for enterprise productivity through the implementation of watsonx Orchestrate.
