Grok 3 lands on Microsoft Azure and GitHub By Elets News Network - 21 May 2025

Grok 3

Microsoft has integrated Grok 3, the flagship large language model from Elon Musk’s xAI, into Azure AI Foundry and GitHub Models. Now, developers can explore Grok 3 at no cost for two weeks, enabling early hands-on experimentation in both cloud and coding environments.

On Azure, Grok 3 now stands alongside industry-leading models from OpenAI, Meta, Cohere, and Hugging Face, further solidifying Microsoft’s commitment to a multi-model AI ecosystem. The addition also underscores the growing demand for diverse model options tailored to complex enterprise needs. Over on GitHub Models, Grok 3 enters public preview, allowing seamless testing via playground access or API integration.

Designed for high-performance reasoning, software development, and multimodal understanding, Grok 3 supports a 131,000-token context window, structured data outputs, and tool integrations. These capabilities make it particularly useful in fields like healthcare, finance, legal analysis, and scientific research. According to xAI benchmarks, the model delivers strong results in code generation, instruction execution, and autonomous agent workflows.

The model is trained on Colossus, which xAI touts as the world’s most powerful AI training cluster—reportedly built in just 122 days. Grok 3’s arrival on Microsoft’s platforms represents a leap forward in bringing sophisticated AI to developers, researchers, and enterprises.

Azure AI Foundry offers Grok 3 under two usage models: a serverless pay-as-you-go option and a Provisioned Throughput Unit (PTU) plan, which guarantees dedicated capacity for high-volume applications. Support for PTU deployments is expected to roll out shortly, enabling scalable, predictable performance.

Official pricing begins in early June, set at $3 per million input tokens and $15 per million output tokens. Until then, developers can take full advantage of the free trial window to assess the model’s capabilities risk-free.

Positioned as a tool “built to accelerate scientific discovery,” Grok 3’s debut across Microsoft’s platforms represents a significant step toward democratizing access to advanced AI. Whether crafting intelligent agents or decoding complex legal texts, developers now have a powerful new model at their fingertips—on Azure for enterprise-grade scale, and GitHub for agile prototyping.
