AI Educator Series

Google has launched its AI Educator Series in India and announced a strategic partnership with UNICEF to strengthen AI literacy and improve learning outcomes across the country.

The announcement was made at the Education World Forum 2026 in London. The Google AI Educator Series is a free, mobile-first training program designed to help school and higher education teachers use AI tools such as Gemini responsibly in classrooms. In its first year, the program will be offered in six Indian languages—Assamese, Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Odia, and Punjabi—and will be rolled out in collaboration with the governments of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Assam, the Union Territory of Ladakh, and the Punjab School Education Board.

In addition, Google, Google for Education, and Google.org have entered into a three-year partnership with UNICEF to support education innovation in India, as well as Brazil, Pakistan, and Kenya. The collaboration will leverage AI-powered tools such as Gemini and Read Along to improve foundational literacy and numeracy while expanding responsible AI adoption in education.

The initiative aligns with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and reflects Google’s broader commitment to equipping educators and students with the skills needed for an AI-driven future.
