Calling the fight against Novel Coronavirus one of the toughest witnessed by humanity in recent times, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh has urged businesses and governments to come together to put up a united front to come out victorious.
“At such a time, it is imperative for businesses to join hands with the governments, civil society, as well as healthcare institutions to support the communities we live and serve in,” he was quoted as saying in a statement of Infosys Foundation–the IT major’s philanthropic and CSR arm based out of Bengaluru.
Infosys Foundations has been helping the most vulnerable sections of the society in India and the US through its resources and technological capabilities.
Terming the COVID-19 challenge as unprecedented, Sudha Murty, chairperson, Infosys Foundation, also backed Infosys CEO’s statement by saying that every section of the society needs to rise up to the challenge.
Many industrialists like RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani and Vedanta’s Anil Agarwal; and companies like Tata Group and Mahindra & Mahindra Group have come forward to extend financial and other support required to fight against Coronavirus.
Crores of rupees have been pledged to PM CARES Fund. “If any state government, healthcare provider, or an NGO would like additional support in their relief efforts, please do reach out to us at foundation@infosys.com with your specific requests,” Infosys said.
