Aakash Educational Services Ltd., integral to Byju’s group, has officially announced Deepak Mehrotra as its new Managing Director and CEO. This strategic appointment comes after the position was vacated by Abhishek Maheshwari in September 2023, leaving the role unoccupied for nearly seven months.

Commencing his tenure with immediate effect, Deepak brings an extensive 35-year career spanning various industries, including education, telecom, and FMCG, setting the stage for an ambitious growth phase for Aakash. His previous roles include Managing Director at Pearson India and leadership positions at Ashirvad Pipes, Asian Paints, Bharti Airtel, and Coca-Cola.

Byju’s Founder and Chairman, Byju Raveendran, expressed optimism about Mehrotra’s leadership, highlighting his exceptional business insight and proven track record as pivotal for propelling Aakash BYJU’S into a new era of growth and influence.

Deepak, an alumnus of IIT Roorkee, has also completed an executive program at The Wharton School. He remarked on his new role enthusiastically, ready to collaborate with the team at AESL to enhance educational offerings and help students achieve their utmost potential.
