Akasa Air has entered into a strategic collaboration with Noida International Airport, marking a significant step in augmenting air traffic in Northern India. This partnership positions Akasa as the second airline, following IndiGo, to confirm its operations from the Noida International Airport.
Expressing enthusiasm about this alliance, Christoph Schnellmann, the Chief Executive Officer of Noida International Airport, remarked at Wings India 2024 – Asia’s premier civil aviation event – that they are on the brink of activating the new airport and foresee a surge in construction activities this year.

Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, highlighted the untapped potential for air travel in Northern India. He emphasised Akasa Air’s ambition to expand its footprint in the region, particularly at emerging airports across India.

Schnellmann further expressed his commitment to ensuring the operational readiness of the airport by year-end. The project, with an estimated cost of ₹5,700 crore, is designed to handle 12 million passengers during its first phase of operation.
