Airtel Nigeria has appointed Dinesh Balsingh as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director. He is taking charge from Carl Cruz, who stepped down at the end of October to return to the Philippines.

Balsingh joined Airtel Nigeria in 2013 as Marketing Director after holding leadership roles at Airtel India and Tata Docomo. He has over 24 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and is returning to Nigeria after serving as Managing Director and CEO of Airtel Tanzania in 2022. Before that, he was the Chief Commercial Officer at Airtel Nigeria.

Balsingh’s career started at Hutchison Essar in 2000. He became Marketing Director at Airtel India in 2006, held leadership roles at Tata Docomo in 2011, and joined Airtel Nigeria as Marketing Director in 2013. He later rose to Chief Commercial Officer in 2018 and became Managing Director and CEO of Airtel Tanzania in 2022.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Thiagarajar School of Management, adding to his extensive industry experience.
