Infosys has inaugurated its new Centre for Advanced AI, Cybersecurity, and Space Technology at the Hubballi Development Centre in Karnataka. This state-of-the-art facility is part of the company’s global innovation network and signals a major push toward decentralised, inclusive technological growth across the region.

The centre is designed to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, SAP, and engineering services. It will also play a significant role in supporting industries like manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and financial services. With over 1,000 professionals now based at the Hubballi campus, the new centre marks a substantial scale-up in Infosys’s regional operations.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by key state leaders, including Karnataka’s Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, M B Patil, and Minister for Electronics, IT & Biotechnology, Priyank Kharge. Both leaders lauded the initiative as a timely investment in North Karnataka’s growth and urged Infosys to expand further across the state to ensure balanced development.

Infosys leadership emphasised that the centre will help accelerate innovation by adopting an AI-first strategy and leveraging its integration with the global Infosys Living Labs ecosystem. The company believes the Hubballi facility will serve as a vital node in delivering next-generation solutions to clients worldwide, while also nurturing local talent and supporting job creation.

This expansion also addresses past concerns over the underutilisation of Infosys’s 58-acre Hubballi campus. There had been criticism over delayed full-scale operations and insufficient local recruitment. The launch of this advanced centre marks a strategic course correction and underlines Infosys’s renewed commitment to regional development.

The Hubballi centre is also expected to foster stronger ties between industry and academia, create high-value employment opportunities, and promote innovation-led entrepreneurship in the region. By strengthening local capabilities and positioning Hubballi as a key player in the state’s digital transformation journey, Infosys aims to make North Karnataka a significant contributor to India’s technology ecosystem.
