Accenture has announced a strategic collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Automotive Research (CAAR) at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) to deliver specialized skilling programs through its LearnVantage Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) Academy.

This joint initiative aims to address the growing need for skilled professionals in the evolving automotive landscape, particularly for automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Global Capability Centers (GCCs) seeking to develop expertise in software-defined vehicle technologies.

The programs will bridge the talent gap between traditional automotive engineering and the new digital competencies essential for building modern vehicles. Participants will be trained in critical areas such as automated driving technologies, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), electrical/electronic vehicle architecture, connectivity, and infotainment systems.

The curriculum will offer domain-focused modules delivered through a blend of self-paced learning and live sessions led by IIT Madras faculty. Learners can expect hands-on, interactive training covering topics like advanced IoT, embedded systems and software, vehicle safety, communication protocols, cybersecurity, edge computing, cloud virtualization, and industry standards, including AUTOSAR and ASPICE.

Accenture Research projects that software-defined digital services will drive around USD 3.5 trillion in value and comprise 40% of global automotive revenues by 2040. To address this demand, Accenture’s LearnVantage SDV Academy is focused on equipping the industry with the necessary skills to develop, deploy, and maintain these next-generation systems.

Kishore Durg, Global Lead of Accenture LearnVantage, said:

“Vehicles are becoming highly sophisticated software platforms, requiring talent fluent in AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, and safety-critical systems. Our partnership with IIT Madras’ CAAR represents a transformative approach to scaling these skills for OEMs and GCCs, enabling them to innovate faster and smarter.”

CAAR at IIT Madras is dedicated to closing the gap between academic research and commercial needs in the automotive sector by delivering cutting-edge technologies, skilled talent, and research facilities.

Thiruppathy (Thiru) Srinivasan, CEO of CAAR at IIT Madras, added:

“As the automotive industry rapidly embraces electrification, connectivity, and smart technologies, there’s an urgent need for a workforce skilled in new digital domains. Our partnership with Accenture LearnVantage is an important step toward meeting this demand through targeted, high-quality upskilling programs.”

Accenture and IIT Madras have an ongoing collaboration through their Center of Excellence, which conducts research and develops intellectual property in areas such as autonomous robotic systems, Industrial IoT, digital twins, and advanced automotive technologies. In addition, TalentSprint—part of Accenture LearnVantage—also delivers an advanced certification program in Applied Data Science and Machine Learning in partnership with IIT Madras.
