REA India, the parent company of Housing.com and PropTiger, has appointed Abhishek Makkar as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He will lead the Engineering and Data Science divisions and will be part of the company’s Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to CEO Dhruv Agarwala.

Abhishek brings nearly two decades of experience in technology and eCommerce. Prior to joining REA India, he spent seven years at Expedia India, spearheading core eCommerce technology initiatives. His previous tenure at Amazon saw him leading global engineering teams, focusing on retail experiences and alternative delivery solutions.

Expressing his views on the appointment, Dhruv Agarwala, Group CEO of Housing.com & PropTiger, remarked:

A part of Australia’s REA Group Ltd, which is affiliated with Newscorp, US, REA India is among the country’s top full-stack real estate technology platforms. The company recently reported a 46% jump in revenue, reaching 64 million AUD (approximately ₹357 crore) for the six-month period ending June.
