STTGDC India inaugurated STTGDC NOI2, a 22 MW data centre at its Noida campus in Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday, 3 November 2026. The facility has been selected to host the AI compute expansion of Indian AI cloud company Neysa, and is part of STTGDC’s plan to build about 200 MW of IT capacity across Delhi NCR, ETDatacenters reported.

The launch adds to a busy fortnight for India’s AI infrastructure, which also saw Vultr switch on a 20 MW AI supercluster in Chennai.

What the STTGDC Noida data centre offers

STTGDC says NOI2 is built for hyperscalers, cloud service providers and enterprises that need high-density, scalable digital infrastructure. The facility combines resilient power, carrier-neutral connectivity, advanced monitoring and full physical security.

  • 22 MW of critical IT load at the Noida campus, alongside the 17 MW Noida 1
  • A third Noida building of about 28 MW is under development
  • STTGDC’s India portfolio now spans 34 data centres in 10 cities and more than 613 MW, including projects under development

Neysa’s GPUs and the AI workload angle

The most AI-relevant part of the launch is its anchor tenant. In October, STTGDC said Neysa would deploy GPUs for its Velocis AI cloud platform at the Noida site. According to DatacenterDynamics, the first phase is designed for up to 9,000 GPUs for AI training and inference and is expected to go live around the first quarter of 2027.

Neysa, led by co-founder and CEO Sharad Sanghi, positions itself as a sovereign AI cloud for India. It is backed by investors including Blackstone, which finalised a structured investment in the startup earlier this year.

“India’s AI ambitions will depend not only on access to compute, but on the digital infrastructure required to support increasingly complex and compute-intensive workloads at scale,” Bimal Khandelwal, CEO, STTGDC India, said when the Neysa deployment was announced.

Why it matters for India’s AI build-out

Indian AI companies have struggled with GPU delivery delays of three to six months, and the government is adding capacity through the IndiaAI Mission’s 10,000-GPU tender. Ready, high-density data centre space close to enterprise demand in Delhi NCR could help shorten that gap.

The question is utilisation. A recent Rhodium Group study found that India’s GPUs were running at about 20% use despite $300 billion in data centre pledges, so capacity like NOI2 will be judged on how fast AI workloads fill it.

STTGDC, which KKR and Singtel fully acquired in February, has investment agreements with Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, and is exploring further sites in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Key takeaways

  • STTGDC NOI2 adds 22 MW in Noida towards about 200 MW planned across Delhi NCR.
  • Neysa will host its AI compute there, with a first phase of up to 9,000 GPUs targeted for around Q1 2027.
  • STTGDC India now runs or is building 34 data centres with more than 613 MW of IT load.
