Bharti Airtel’s digital arm, Xtelify, has officially launched Airtel Cloud — a sovereign, telco-grade cloud platform designed specifically for Indian enterprises. Developed entirely in India and hosted across next-generation data centres within the country, the platform is poised to meet the surging demand for secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
Airtel Cloud has been meticulously engineered to manage up to 140 crore (1.4 billion) transactions per minute. One of its standout promises is a total cost of ownership (TCO) optimisation of up to 40%, addressing a key concern shared by enterprise and government leaders across India. With increasing regulatory emphasis on data localisation, Airtel Cloud offers a comprehensive solution — one that guarantees complete data and control plane sovereignty, in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.

Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, described the launch as a “seminal moment” for the company. “This is not just a product we’ve built for the market — it’s a platform that has powered Airtel’s own digital transformation from the inside out,” said Vittal. “Airtel Cloud ensures zero vendor lock-in and is managed by over 300 certified cloud professionals. All operational controls remain strictly within Indian borders, ensuring absolute data security and sovereignty.”

The launch marks a pivotal chapter in Airtel’s broader strategy to empower Indian enterprises with cutting-edge digital tools. Vittal further highlighted the platform’s AI-readiness and seamless integration capabilities, which are expected to facilitate innovation, agility, and long-term growth for businesses navigating digital transformation.

Xtelify has also secured strategic global partnerships to strengthen its ecosystem. Collaborations with leading international telecom operators — including Singtel (Singapore), Globe Telecom (Philippines), and Airtel Africa — signal the company’s intention to take its home-grown platforms to the global stage. In addition to Airtel Cloud, Xtelify has unveiled an AI-powered software suite tailored for telecom businesses worldwide.
With the introduction of Airtel Cloud, Airtel aims to address the complex and evolving needs of Indian businesses. The platform promises not only scalability and security but also a future-proof architecture capable of supporting the digital ambitions of India’s diverse enterprise landscape.
In an era where data sovereignty and technological independence are becoming critical national imperatives, Airtel Cloud emerges as a timely, robust solution. Built in India, for India, the platform reflects Airtel’s commitment to enabling digital self-reliance while reinforcing its leadership in the cloud services domain.
