Airbus has signed a lease for 650,000 sq ft of office space in Bengaluru’s Whitefield to establish a Global Capability Centre (GCC). Valued at over ₹500 crore, the lease spans 10 years and consists of a full building in Titanium Tech Park. The facility will focus on technology and innovation while supporting Airbus’s global operations.

The agreement includes an option to expand by 150,000 sq ft after a year, increasing the total space to 800,000 sq ft. Airbus also has the option to extend the lease for an additional five years. Fit-out work is expected to begin soon. The lease terms include a 15% rent increase every three years.

Airbus already operates an engineering centre in Bengaluru and works with Indian companies like Tata Advanced Systems and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on aircraft manufacturing. The company is also part of the C295 aircraft programme. The first ‘Make in India’ C295 aircraft is planned to be delivered from Vadodara by 2026.

India has become a key market for Airbus due to increasing demand for civil aviation. IndiGo and Air India have placed orders for over 1,000 aircraft. The government is also working on policies to attract more GCCs by setting up dedicated office zones and encouraging expansion in smaller towns.
