MAPFRE, a leading insurance company, announced Juan Bernal as its new Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO) starting May 1, 2024. Juan will replace José Luis Jiménez, who has held the position since 2015.

MAPFRE, known for managing assets exceeding 50 billion euros, is a prominent player in the insurance market across Spain and Latin America. The company offers a variety of investment options including fixed income, equities, mixed assets, global, and alternative investments, alongside specialized ESG and climate-related mutual funds.

Juan Bernal, who will soon leave his current role as General Manager at CaixaBank Asset Management, has an extensive 25-year background in asset management and banking. He is also an alumnus of the University of Alcalá, holding an executive MBA, and earned his bachelor’s degree in business science from the EU Business School.
