Yotta Data Services has been empanelled under the India AI Mission, a government initiative aimed at advancing the nation’s artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The company will contribute over 50% of the initiative’s GPU computing capacity, which will be accessible through the forthcoming India AI Mission portal.

Yotta will enable instant access to high-performance GPUs via its Shakti Cloud platform, offering low-latency computing and a secure infrastructure to drive AI research and innovation. In collaboration with Microsoft Azure AI, Sarvam AI, and Hanooman AI, Yotta is strengthening India’s sovereign AI ecosystem.

With a commitment of 9,216 GPUs—including 8,192 Nvidia H100 GPUs and 1,024 L40S GPUs—Yotta will deploy these resources in phases at its NM1 data center. Its AI-focused services include AI Labs for students, AI Workspaces, GPU-as-a-Service, and API endpoints for AI models.

Additionally, Yotta is supporting the India AI Innovation Center in developing indigenous AI models. Its hyperscale data centers and AI-ready cloud infrastructure will facilitate the training of Large Multimodal Models (LMMs), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Small Language Models (SLMs). By offering GPU and TPU clusters, Yotta provides startups, researchers, and enterprises with access to AI computing power without hefty upfront investments. Locally stored datasets will ensure compliance with India’s data sovereignty regulations.

Yotta’s involvement in the India AI Mission aligns with the government’s vision of fostering private sector participation in AI infrastructure, creating a dynamic and market-driven AI ecosystem. CEO Sunil Gupta emphasized the significance of demand-side funding, where the government enables service providers to deploy GPUs and offer cloud-based AI services. This model ensures that AI resources remain accessible to researchers, startups, and enterprises, driving India’s AI innovation forward.
