Wipro to Expand Hyderabad Operations, Adding 5,000 Jobs By Elets News Network - 23 January 2025

Wipro Limited has announced plans to expand its presence in Hyderabad by setting up a new IT centre at Gopanapally, near the financial district. This move is expected to create 5,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The announcement was made during the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, where Rishad Premji, Executive Chairman of Wipro Limited, met with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu. The new facility is expected to be completed within two to three years.


The Chief Minister welcomed Wipro’s expansion, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting leading corporations in the state. “Wipro is a key partner in the growth of the IT sector in Hyderabad. The expansion of the Wipro campus will further boost the state’s technology sector and increase IT employment opportunities,” he said.

Premji expressed enthusiasm about collaborating. He said, “We are keen to work with the Telangana government for promoting new innovations and creating new opportunities.”

The IT and Industries Minister encouraged Wipro to partner with the state in its skill development initiatives, including programmes run by the Young India Skills University.
