Thermax,  energy and environmental solutions provider, has appointed Dr. Santanu Chaudhuri as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Senior Management team member. In this strategic role, Dr. Santanu will lead the company’s technological initiatives, focusing on developing innovative solutions for sustainable energy and environmental projects.

Dr. Santanu brings over 27 years of global expertise in computational chemistry, advanced materials engineering, and materials science. Prior to joining Thermax, he served as a professor of civil, materials, and environmental engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also headed the Computational Materials and Production Program at Argonne National Laboratory, where he led the development of advanced materials and scalable production methods using computational tools.


His academic credentials include a PhD in Materials and Computational Chemistry from State University of New York at Stony Brook, a Bachelor of Science with honors in Chemical Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics from SAJ College, Calcutta, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from Post Graduate Institute of Management. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering Technology from PACE University, New York.

Throughout his career, Dr. Santanu has made significant contributions to areas such as advanced adhesive development and additive manufacturing through machine learning and nanoscale modeling applications. His appointment aligns with Thermax’s commitment to technological advancement and sustainable solutions.
