The Gurugram Police Department has rolled out an AI-powered vehicle number plate recognition system in partnership with Staqu Technologies, which is going to turn everyday CCTV cameras into eagle-eyed sleuths. Its high-powered JARVIS platform scans and checks with RTO records, sending live alerts to officers and identifying vehicles with fake plates, stolen registrations, or even those on the blacklist.

This collaboration has already flagged 1,500 vehicles within two days at just two checkpoints

Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora, said, “The implementation of Staqu’s AI-based technology has already proven to be a game-changer for us. In just a few weeks, we have successfully identified and apprehended several vehicle-related defaulters. This collaboration marks a significant advancement in our surveillance efforts, and we look forward to continued success in enhancing public safety.”
