IT industry body Nasscom (National Association of Software and Service Companies) has named Sindhu Gangadharan as its Chairperson. Sindhu is the Managing Director of SAP Labs India. She succeeds Rajesh Nambiar, who has been named Nasscom’s President-Designate.

Gangadharan’s appointment as MD of SAP Labs India positioned her as the first woman to lead the company. Commenting on her appointment, she reiterated Nasscom’s role in establishing India as a global innovation leader. Sindhu also stated that India can now “spearhead large-scale digital transformations that are sustainable and inclusive,” given its strong engineering R&D, innovation, and digital talent.

Sindhu also serves on the boards of Siemens India and Titan Company and is a member of the Steering Committee of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. Last year, she was appointed Chair of Nasscom’s GCC Council.

Rajesh Nambiar recently stepped down as India MD and chairman of Cognizant. In November 2024, he will succeed Debjani Ghosh as Nasscom president.
