Reliance Retail has appointed Sandeep Karwa as the new chief executive officer of AJIO, along with its broader online fashion and lifestyle portfolio, including Shein India.
Karwa joins the company after serving as country head for Taiwan operations at Coupang. Prior to that, he spent over 12 years at Flipkart, where he held several leadership roles, including vice president for Flipkart Ads.
As part of the leadership reshuffle, current AJIO CEO Vineeth Nair will move into an expanded role overseeing Reliance Retail’s larger fashion and lifestyle business. Nair has been associated with AJIO for nearly a decade and played a key role in building the platform since its inception.

The appointment comes as Reliance Retail strengthens its push in online fashion, lifestyle commerce, and quick delivery services amid rising competition in India’s e-commerce market.
