Pipeshift seed funding

AI infrastructure startup Pipeshift has raised $2.5 Mn (INR 20.74 Cr) in a seed funding round. Y Combinator and SenseAI Ventures led the investment, joined by Arka Venture Labs, Good News Ventures, Nivesha Ventures, Astir VC, GradCapital, and MyAsiaVC. Angel investors Kulveer Taggar (CEO of Zuess), Umur Cubukcu (CEO of Ubicloud), and Krishna Mehra (co-founder of Capillary Technologies and Meta’s former Head of Engineering) also participated.

The funds will be used to improve Pipeshift’s products and achieve product-market fit by year-end. The startup also plans to expand in the US and India while adding new talent.

Pipeshift was founded in 2024 by Arko Chattopadhyay, Pranav Reddy, and Enrique Ferrao. It provides a modular platform for training, deploying, and scaling open-source GenAI models. Pipeshift’s offerings help companies reduce GPU infrastructure costs and speed up AI deployment without extra engineering.

SenseAI Ventures’ Managing Partner, Rahul Agarwalla highlighted the platform’s ability to simplify deployment and boost production throughput, addressing the challenges of transitioning GenAI models to production. Pipeshift works with over 30 companies, including NetApp.

The funding comes as the GenAI sector continues to grow. India has over 200 GenAI startups, which have collectively raised more than $1.2 Bn between 2020 and Q3 2024. Recent fundraises in the sector include Netradyne’s $90 Mn Series D round, RePut.ai’s $1 Mn pre-seed funding, and Quash’s INR 5.4 Cr pre-seed round.
