Perplexity AI has introduced a new flagship product called Perplexity Computer, designed to orchestrate and coordinate multiple AI models to handle complex workflows and tasks. Unlike conventional AI tools that rely on a single large language model, this system routes different parts of a user’s request to the best-suited model, enabling specialised handling for things like research, reasoning, coding, and generation.

Built as a unified “digital worker,” Perplexity Computer goes beyond simple chat interfaces by breaking big goals into smaller tasks and completing them autonomously. According to the company, it can research information, write and debug code, design content, and even deploy complete projects from start to finish — all by managing multiple AI sub-agents working in parallel.

CEO Aravind Srinivas described the platform as an orchestration layer that brings together files, cloud tools, persistent memory, and AI models into a single coordinated workflow. The system currently supports around 19 different specialised models, each assigned to subtasks based on their strengths, which also gives users more control over performance and usage costs.

Perplexity Computer is rolling out now for subscribers on Perplexity’s highest tier plan, with access based on usage rather than a flat subscription, and includes features like browser access, document analysis, and integrated tools.
