Perplexity AI has introduced a powerful new feature called Labs, designed to transform user prompts into complete, ready-to-use projects in just minutes. Starting Friday, this feature is available to Pro subscribers on the web, iOS, and Android platforms.

Labs takes Perplexity’s capabilities beyond simple search and research. While the original Search and newly renamed Research modes are focused on fast answers and deep analysis, Labs acts more like an AI-powered project team. It can generate detailed reports, spreadsheets, interactive dashboards, web apps, and more—all within a short time frame.

According to Perplexity, “Using Labs is like having a virtual team that handles everything—from ideation to execution.” The system leverages advanced tools such as real-time web browsing, code execution, and asset creation (including charts, images, and spreadsheets) to build structured deliverables from the ground up.

Each project in Labs comes with an Assets tab to organise all generated content and an App tab for creating dynamic web components like slideshows and dashboards. This marks a major leap from the platform’s traditional quick-response tools, offering richer and more extended workflows.

To help users get started, Perplexity has curated a Projects Gallery showcasing examples of what Labs can create. Labs can be accessed via the mode selector bar on supported platforms, with a desktop app version on the horizon.

In parallel, Perplexity is also testing its new AI browser, Comet, in beta for select Apple Silicon Mac users. Comet is built to revolutionise web browsing with real-time, context-aware intelligence. It customises responses using the user’s open tabs and browsing history, all stored locally for privacy and never used for model training.
