In a significant step toward enhancing India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem, Optiemus Electronics Ltd. (OEL) has entered into a strategic partnership with TP-Link, a globally renowned electronics brand. This collaboration underscores TP-Link’s commitment to the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and aims to establish India as a global hub for telecom and electronics manufacturing.
Under this agreement, Optiemus Electronics will produce an array of advanced telecom and Internet of Things (IoT) devices for TP-Link, including GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Networks) devices, security cameras, home Wi-Fi routers, enterprise routers, modems, gateways, SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) switches, and other networking devices. These products will be manufactured at Optiemus’s state-of-the-art facility, which boasts a production capacity of up to six million devices annually.
The partnership is expected to meet the rising demand for connected devices in India while laying the groundwork for exporting made-in-India electronic products to international markets. Optiemus has also committed to strengthening the local manufacturing ecosystem by developing a robust supply chain for key components such as power adapters and mechanical parts. This initiative will reduce reliance on imports and offer enhanced control over the supply chain.
“This collaboration aligns perfectly with our vision of making India a leading destination for IT manufacturing,” said a spokesperson from TP-Link. “By combining our expertise with Optiemus’s manufacturing capabilities, we aim to deliver high-quality products to both domestic and international markets.”
The production of TP-Link’s Made-in-India products is set to begin in February 2025, with the finished goods expected to be available in the domestic market by March 2025. This venture is anticipated to contribute significantly to employment generation and further India’s efforts to become an information technology (IT) manufacturing powerhouse.

The strategic collaboration between Optiemus and TP-Link reflects a broader trend of global electronics brands investing in India to leverage its skilled workforce and favourable policy environment. By manufacturing locally, these companies are not only tapping into the rapidly growing domestic market but also positioning India as a key player in the global electronics supply chain.
Optiemus has already made substantial investments in building a competitive local ecosystem. By focusing on high-quality production and developing a strong network of local suppliers, the company aims to set new benchmarks in electronics manufacturing in India. The partnership with TP-Link is expected to enhance these efforts, making India a preferred destination for high-tech manufacturing.
As India continues to emerge as a hub for technology and electronics, collaborations like this are pivotal in driving economic growth and technological innovation. This partnership between Optiemus and TP-Link marks a significant milestone in India’s journey toward self-reliance and global competitiveness in the electronics sector.
