Krutrim, the AI startup founded by Bhavish Aggarwal, plans to launch its first AI chip, Bodhi 1, in 2026, followed by an upgraded version, Bodhi 2, in 2028. These chips are being designed to handle complex AI tasks to create faster and more efficient AI systems.

Krutrim is working on four chips: Bodhi 1, Bodhi 2, Sarv 1, and Ojas. The company has partnered with global semiconductor firms Arm and Untether AI to develop these CPU and AI chips. Bodhi 1, expected in 2026, will focus on advanced language models and AI processing with top-notch power efficiency, while Bodhi 2, due in 2028, will support models with over 10 trillion parameters.

In addition, Krutrim plans to release Sarv 1, a cloud-native CPU, in 2026, and Ojas, an Edge AI chip designed for future Ola Electric vehicles.

When asked about manufacturing, Aggarwal mentioned that the location has not been decided yet, with discussions ongoing with various companies, including potential Taiwanese foundries.
