Meta Platforms has agreed to acquire Singapore-based AI startup Manus, adding a popular artificial intelligence agent to its efforts to build a business around its massive AI investments, with the deal valuing Manus at more than $2 billion.
The transaction ranks as Meta’s third-largest acquisition in its history, following WhatsApp and Scale AI, with the deal finalized in approximately ten days. Manus launched its first general AI agent earlier this year, capable of executing complex tasks such as market research, coding, and data analysis, and achieved an annualized average revenue of more than $100 million just eight months after launch.
The company’s AI agent has already processed over 147 trillion tokens and supported the creation of more than 80 million virtual computers, enabling end-to-end execution of tasks in real-world settings for both individual users and enterprises.

Founded in 2022 by Xiao Hong in Wuhan, China, the company relocated its headquarters to Singapore in June as it expanded globally. Xiao Hong will assume the role of Vice President at Meta, while the company continues independent operations.
Meta plans to extend access to Manus’s AI capabilities across its platforms over time, potentially reaching billions of users worldwide. The acquisition represents Meta’s fifth AI-related purchase in 2025, demonstrating its aggressive strategy to expand artificial intelligence offerings and compete with AI-first productivity platforms.
