MakeMyTrip Introduces Myra AI Assistant to Revolutionize Multilingual Travel Planning

In a major technological leap for the travel sector, MakeMyTrip has announced the launch of Myra, an AI-powered multilingual Trip Planning Assistant designed to enhance the user experience through natural and intuitive conversations. Currently in its beta phase, Myra enables travelers to interact using either voice or text in English, Hindi, or a blend of both, popularly known as Hinglish.

This new digital companion is positioned as a comprehensive travel partner that assists users from the initial discovery phase through to booking and post-travel services. By enabling open-ended queries, Myra interprets complex user intent and delivers real-time, contextually relevant suggestions—signaling a significant advancement over the company’s earlier AI tools.

The rollout of Myra reflects MakeMyTrip’s vision to make travel more accessible and personalized for a broader demographic, particularly in India’s diverse linguistic landscape. As regional language adoption in digital platforms gains traction, Myra addresses a crucial gap by facilitating seamless trip planning in both Hindi and English—two of the country’s most widely spoken languages.

Rajesh Magow, Co-founder and Group CEO of MakeMyTrip, underscored the broader objective behind this innovation—bringing travel planning closer to the common user. He noted that the integration of generative AI empowers the platform to bridge the gap between user intent and action, stating that the solution could help reach deeper into India’s “Bharat heartland,” where English-language interfaces often serve as a barrier.

Sanjay Mohan, Group CTO at MakeMyTrip, described Myra as one of the most ambitious technological builds in the company’s history. He highlighted the in-house development of custom language models and advanced real-time scheduling engines that work collaboratively to ensure accurate, fast, and user-relevant results. This layered AI framework allows Myra to address a wide array of user needs, covering bookings for flights, accommodations, holiday packages, local transport, visas, and foreign exchange.

The foundation of Myra lies in a specialized network of AI agents, each tailored to a specific domain within the travel ecosystem. This modular architecture enables users to receive targeted and intelligent responses, making the planning process more efficient and user-centric. The assistant operates with real-time intelligence, constantly learning and improving its contextual awareness and decision-making.

Myra’s launch is part of MakeMyTrip’s larger push into generative AI technologies. The company was among the early adopters in India’s travel sector to integrate GenAI into core functionalities, with previous tools like Fare Lock and Zero Cancellation simplifying key booking decisions. With Myra, MakeMyTrip strengthens its commitment to reshaping digital travel experiences through smarter, accessible, and inclusive AI solutions.

As the assistant continues to evolve during its beta testing phase, its impact is expected to grow, particularly among users seeking convenience, language comfort, and reliable travel planning support. MakeMyTrip’s Myra marks a significant milestone in AI-driven travel innovation, with potential to redefine how India’s digitally connected travelers plan their journeys.
