L&T Heavy Engineering wins key contracts in oil and gas sector By Elets News Network - 23 January 2024

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced that its Heavy Engineering division has obtained notable contracts in both domestic and international markets. The specifics of the contract values were not disclosed, but they are estimated to be within the range of Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore, classified as significant orders by the company.

L&T Heavy Engineering’s Modification, Revamp, and Upgrade (MRU) business segment has successfully landed a substantial contract for a critical debottlenecking project from a leading client in the oil and gas industry. This order marks a significant achievement for L&T‘s MRU business, especially in the Middle East, a region where the company has been focusing its efforts for the past few years.


Additionally, the MRU segment has also secured a vital project from Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) at their Gujarat Refinery, involving the critical repair of Coke Drums.

Apart from these, L&T has also gained contracts for manufacturing several essential pieces of equipment for overseas process plant projects. On the domestic front, the company has been awarded contracts for producing high-pressure heat exchangers with proprietary designs for a refinery project, among other orders.

L&T, known for its involvement in diverse engineering, procurement, construction projects, high-tech manufacturing, and services, continues to strengthen its position in the heavy engineering sector with these latest acquisitions.
