Infosys is preparing 225 generative intelligence (GenAI) programs for its clients, and more than 2.5 lakh employees have been trained in GenAI technologies, Co-founder and Chairman Nandan Nilekani revealed during his address to shareholders at the company’s 43rd annual general meeting (AGM) on June 26.

Nilekani said that GenAI components have been embedded across all its service lines and 25 playbooks have been developed to enhance client impact. Additionally, 46 AI patents and 70 AI client advocacies have been filed by Infosys in the financial year 2023-24 (FY24).

Stressing the importance of talent development, Nikelani said that it is the most important ingredient to execute complex transformations.

The power of AI comes from configuring various models and tools, not relying on a single dominant model, Nikelani said, adding that the rise of powerful open-source AI models has accelerated AI deployment to address business and societal challenges.

In the future, Nikelani said, multi-generation technology and extensive data orchestration have to be integrated for AI consumption. He also highlighted that enterprises need to ensure high-quality and accurate AI output and adapt to the rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Nikelani said that people have accepted the potential possessed by GenAI. “People have accepted that, like any other general-purpose technology be it electricity, nuclear energy, the internet, or even a discovery like fire, GenAI has enormous potential for good when advanced within the guardrails of responsibility,” he concluded.
