Karthik Narain has started his new role as Chief Technology Officer at Accenture. Besides the new role of CTO, Narain will be continuing to lead the company as its Group Chief Executive of Technology. This is a big leadership changeover for Narain, who replaces Paul Daugherty, who retired from his position at Accenture after close to 40 years in service.

Narain shared his gratitude and excitement in a LinkedIn post. “I look forward to helping Accenture shine as its own best example of the amazing things that happen when you combine technology and human ingenuity,” he wrote.

Narain’s career at Accenture has been focused on driving technological advancements and innovation for the company and its clients. Before being appointed CTO, he was the company’s Group Executive for technology.

Prior to joining Accenture, he worked for a decade at HCLTech, where he was the Vice President and Vertical Head for High Tech, including Software & Platforms and Automotive, from 2005 to 2015. Narain has also worked at Infosys.

Narain holds a Master’s in Computer Systems and Business from Bharathidasan University in Tiruchirappalli, India.
