Karnataka is set to launch India’s first ever Global Capability Centres (GCC) policy with the aim of hosting over 15% of the world’s top Forbes 2000 enterprises by 2030. An estimated one million jobs can be created across various sectors upon its initiation.
The new GCC policy will include incentives and regulations to attract enterprises not only to Bengaluru but also to emerging tech hubs like Mysuru, Hubballi, and Mangaluru.

This information comes from the Karnataka GCC Landscape Report, released on Monday by Priyank Kharge, Minister for IT-BT and Rural Development, and other key officials from the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) and ANSEs.

Minister Kharge said, “Karnataka has been the leading force in India’s digital revolution with GCCs serving as a key driver for the state’s growth trajectory. We are implementing strategic interventions and facilitators to establish a resilient business and operational ecosystem for GCCs. We are coming up with the first GCC Policy in India to support the GCCs looking to start operations in Karnataka.”
According to the report, Karnataka currently employs about 570,000 professionals in GCCs, with Bengaluru holding a 39% market share in India. The state boasts 570 GCCs and has double the enterprise-ready talent compared to other regions. This achievement can be attributed to the state’s skilled workforce, advanced tech infrastructure, and vibrant business ecosystem.
Karnataka aims to spearhead India’s growth in the global GCC landscape with significant foreign direct investment and transformative technological investments.
