Indian Bank Partners with IBM for Robust Compute Infrastructure to Safeguard Customer Data By Elets News Network - 04 September 2023

Indian Bank, IBM

To supply computing infrastructure for the deployment of new front-end banking apps, global technology company IBM has partnered with Indian Bank. The core banking solutions (CBS) workloads for the bank will expand as a result of this “flexible and secure” architecture.

While operating CBS workloads on the newest generation of IBM servers, Indian Bank is using Project Paradise to consolidate its front branch servers for greater manageability and availability at data centers (DC) and disaster recovery (DR) centers. Indian Bank improves management and availability at its data centers in Chennai and Mumbai by consolidating front-end branch servers.

“We are committed to assisting clients in integrating hybrid cloud and AI solutions into their workflow, improving operational effectiveness and fostering growth while reducing risks. The success of this targeted approach can be seen in the support provided to Indian Bank as they develop their digital capabilities, according to Viswanath Ramaswamy, vice president for technology at IBM India & South Asia.

To help Indian Bank with its demands for digital infrastructure, IBM will provide infrastructure-as-a-service. IBM will provide a range of capabilities, including more compute and storage, the ability to establish a private cloud using available resources, the creation of a single processor pool for both DC and DR, and the ability to provide services like a pay-as-you-grow model.

Indian Bank is utilizing IBM PowerSC for all AIX endpoints in order to better meet the security requirements of the private cloud and to improve compliance audits. Undoubtedly, IBM’s AIX operating systems are a collection of proprietary UNIX-based platforms. The Indian Bank has also implemented IBM PowerVC for dynamic resource optimization for IBM AIX Servers, cloud deployments, workload image management, and streamlined virtualization management. Indian Bank also wants to lower its total ownership costs by making effective use of the computing resources that are already available and utilizing IBM’s power enterprise pools at DC and DR facilities.
