CoRover.ai unveiled Kanha AI at the India AI Impact Summit, a voice-first AI companion device designed to reduce children’s dependency on smartphones and screens while promoting educational engagement and cultural values through conversational interaction.

The device supports 14 languages including Hindi, English, and regional Indian languages, enabling children to interact naturally through voice commands without requiring screen exposure. Kanha AI aims to address growing concerns about digital addiction among children and its impact on mental development.

Named after Lord Krishna, the companion focuses on delivering age-appropriate educational content, storytelling, cultural narratives, and interactive learning experiences through voice-based conversations. The device responds to children’s questions, guides them through learning activities, and provides entertainment without requiring visual attention.

Ankush Sabharwal, CEO of CoRover.ai, emphasized that technology should enrich childhood rather than consume it, noting that Kanha AI represents an effort to balance technological advancement with developmental needs by offering children an engaging alternative to passive screen consumption.

The launch comes as India grapples with rising concerns about smartphone addiction among children, with studies indicating increased screen time correlating with attention deficits, disrupted sleep patterns, and reduced physical activity.
