Autodesk has partnered with Anna University, Chennai, to enhance student employability in the design and manufacturing sectors. The two institutions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote applied learning and digital innovation through a comprehensive educational initiative.

The agreement was formalised at Anna University’s Guindy campus in the presence of top officials, including Dr. Govi Chezhiaan, Minister for Higher Education, Government of Tamil Nadu; Thiru C. Samayamoorthy, IAS, Secretary to Government; Tmt. J. Innocent Divya, IAS, Commissioner of Technical Education; and Thiru M. P. Vijay Kumar, IAS, Vice Chairman, Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education. The MoU was signed by Conway Kang Wei Goh, Director APAC, Autodesk Education Experiences, and Dr. J. Prakash, Registrar, Anna University.

A key component of the collaboration is the establishment of a state-of-the-art Design and Innovation Centre at the College of Engineering, Guindy. This facility will provide students with access to Autodesk’s cloud-based platforms and tools for hands-on experience in digital manufacturing, CNC machining, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Beyond infrastructure, the partnership includes curriculum enhancement, faculty development, and immersive industry-aligned programs. Faculty members will be trained as master trainers to lead digital manufacturing courses across the university’s constituent and affiliated colleges. The initiative also plans to involve Anna University in global Autodesk events, fostering global exposure and collaboration.

“This partnership is a bold step toward empowering the next generation of innovators,” said Conway Kang Wei Goh. “By integrating Autodesk’s advanced technologies into education, we’re enabling students to thrive in a digital-first world.”

Dr. J. Prakash emphasized the importance of the initiative, noting, “This collaboration will help redefine technical education by offering our students real-world tools and insights, significantly improving their job readiness.”

With a shared vision of fostering innovation and preparing students for evolving industry landscapes, this collaboration reinforces Autodesk’s commitment to making cutting-edge education more accessible across India.
