Apple Inc. has announced plans to open four new retail outlets across major metropolitan cities including Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, in a significant move to strengthen its presence in the Indian market. The expansion follows the successful launch of Apple’s initial flagship stores in Mumbai and Delhi.
The tech giant aims to hire approximately 400 new employees to staff these upcoming stores, incorporating full-time and part-time positions. Following their existing staffing model, which employs 90-100 people per flagship store, Apple is particularly focusing on recruiting recent graduates for part-time roles, offering them valuable industry experience.

Apple India has begun its recruitment drive, with job postings appearing for various positions, including technical specialists, operations experts, and supply managers. An Apple Retail leader made the announcement public through a LinkedIn post, signaling the company’s commitment to local talent development.

The expansion includes implementing Apple’s signature ‘Today at Apple’ workshops, designed to provide customers with expert guidance and hands-on product experience. This initiative aims to create a more immersive and personalised shopping environment for Indian consumers, complementing the existing online and authorized reseller networks.

This retail expansion aligns with Apple’s broader ambitions in India, where the company plans to create 600,000 jobs by the end of the fiscal year. The company’s direct workforce in India is projected to reach 200,000 employees by March, with a significant emphasis on women’s employment.
While Apple’s revenue from India currently represents a modest portion of its global earnings, this substantial expansion underscores India’s growing importance in Apple’s long-term strategic vision and its commitment to the rapidly evolving Indian technology market.
