Agora, a global real-time engagement platform, has partnered with Murf AI, a startup founded by IIT Kharagpur alumni, to enhance its conversational AI capabilities with real-time voice technology.
As part of the collaboration, Murf AI’s text-to-speech (TTS) technology has been integrated into Agora’s Conversational AI Engine, enabling developers and enterprises to build more natural, responsive, and production-ready voice agents.
The integration focuses on solving key challenges in voice AI—particularly latency, scalability, and natural interaction quality. With features such as low response time (around 130 milliseconds), multilingual support, and expressive voice generation, the platform allows AI agents to engage in conversations that feel more human-like.
Agora’s platform acts as an orchestration layer that connects speech recognition (ASR), large language models (LLMs), and voice synthesis, enabling seamless coordination between different AI components in real time.

Unlike traditional systems, the new setup allows voice outputs to be streamed, interrupted, and dynamically adapted, making conversations more fluid and interactive. This is particularly useful for applications like customer support automation, virtual assistants, sales outreach, and multilingual engagement.
The partnership reflects a broader shift toward voice-first and agentic AI systems, where real-time communication and natural interaction are becoming critical for enterprise adoption. By combining Murf’s voice generation capabilities with Agora’s infrastructure, the companies aim to accelerate the development of scalable, real-time conversational AI applications.
